Vroom, Vroom!

And here comes Carter down the straight away, in to turn 1, the fans go wild, this is the youngest rookie in the history of the greatest spectacle in racing, your Indianapolis 500! Hello race fans. We were out to eat the other night and Carter got the wonderful opportunity to sit behind the wheel of the #39 car, Michael Andretti. Perhaps we have a future Pole Position winner on our hands. Happy Race Day!

My 1st Mother's Day!

Carter and I, (Matt too) enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Rick's Cafe Boatyard for Mother's Day. The weather was absolutley beautiful, the sailboats were on the water and what else could be better, I was with the best of company!

Me, Holly, and Mom celebrating Mother's Day at Holly and Justin's house for a cookout! Too bad the other girls couldn't be there to help us celebrate. We are all so lucky to be part of such a close family and having a mom that is a wonderful example of what mothers should be!

Just the three of us!

Today Baptized with water

Forever bathed in God's holy love!
Here is Carter in his baptismal outfit that Matt also wore as a baby and his bonnet that his Auntie Nawna bought for him!
How sweet!

Fr. Mac baptizing Carter!
We are so glad that he was available for this very special day!

Carter and Keira were both baptized on May 5, 2007. Here are the sweet little babies with their Godparents!

The Mennel's celebrate yet two more little blessings!

The Wynberry's celebrate yet another boy!

Carter is so lucky to have such special Godparents, his Uncle Travis and his Auntie A (Ashley).

Our Little Trooper

Carter had his surgery last week at Riley Children's Hospital and came through with flying colors! The nurses and doctors there are wonderful! Here are a couple pictures before surgery when he was in his little hospital gown (his only time to be in a dress). After surgery Carter enjoyed watching his monitor, which Matt said reminds him of me during my c-section when I watched my monitor to much of my anesthesiologist dislike. I guess it is like mommy, like son. Anyways, Carter did great and he is well on the road to recovery!!

I would walk 500 miles

and I would walk 500 more. OK, so it was really only 5 miles but it was for a wonderful cause. On Sunday, Matt and I, along with Baby Carter, participated in the March of Dimes walk to help raise money for research on Premature Births. And in Ohio, Shawna and Keira walked as well! It was an absolutely beautiful day as we walked our way through Downtown Indianapolis. After the walk little Carter was really hungry (from all that hard work I am sure) so we stopped at Military Park and ate lunch with all the other walkers. Thanks to all of you who supported us on our walk; your contribution will make a difference in lives of millions of families!

Like a Baby

He sleeps like a baby! Whoever first came up with this phrase has obviously never had a baby. Although they may sleep frequently, they definitely do not sleep long. Carter took a nap in his crib yesterday for the very first time! Looking at the picture, Carter loved it "this much" with his little arms stretched out wide! He loved it so much that we tried to have him sleep in his crib last night for the very first time. I cried as we tucked him in, but not to worry I still got to hold him every three hours when he woke up to eat. Today Carter is 9 weeks old, and what a wonderful 9 weeks it has been!

2 months old!

Two months, two whole months. It is hard to believe that little Carter has been gracing us with his appearance for two whole months! We went to the doctor on Monday for his check-up. He had to get his 2 month shots. I think I cried harder and longer than he did. It broke my heart having to hold him while they gave him four shots, two in each leg. So sad! Good thing is that as soon as they were done I picked him up and the crying stopped. My tears however continued to fall almost the whole way home. We found out that Carter has a little hernia so we will have to take him to Riley so the Pediatric Surgeon can fix it next week. It just breaks my heart to even think of it. On a happier note, little Carter is growing strong. He was 10 lbs 4 oz and 21 1/2 inches long, which means he gained a whopping 3 lbs this month! And he can finally fit into all those cute little 0-3 month outfits that everybody has bought for him!
